DOCTRINAL BELIEFS |
The Bible |
We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible, as well as |
the absolute inerrancy, infallibility, divine preservation and authority |
of the Word of God. We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New |
Testaments to be: |
Given by Revelation (2 Peter 1:20-21) |
Written by Inspiration (2 Timothy 3:15-16) |
Kept by Preservation (Psalms 12:6-7) |
Accurate in Translation (Matthew 5:18) |
Understood by Illumination (1 Corinthians 2:9-16) |
God |
We believe in one true God, triune in being, eternally existing in three |
Persons, manifested as Father, Son and Holy Spirit; co-equal, |
co-eternal, co-essential, each being infinitely perfect deity. God is |
Creator and Sustainer of all things. (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; |
Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14) |
Jesus |
We believe in the deity, virgin birth, sinless life, vicarious atoning |
death, burial and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, according to the |
scripture. (Mark 14:61-62; Luke 1:26-31; I Peter 2:21-22; Hebrews |
10:10-14; Rom 8:34, Acts 1:10-11, 2:22-24; Revelation 1:13-18) |
Salvation |
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, apart from works. |
The conditions of salvation are repentance of sin and personal faith in |
Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Luke 13:3,5; Romans |
10:9-13). We believe that Jesus died for everyone and will save anyone |
who will believe in him, (John 3:16). |
We believe that man is justified by faith, and is accounted as righteous |
before God, only through the blood of Jesus Christ. (Romans 1:17; |
Galatians 2:16; Titus 3:5) |
Security of the believer |
We believe a person who repents, believes in and accepts by faith, Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is saved once and always. That person is eternally secure and can never lose his/her salvation. (John 3:16; |
John 10:28-29; Rom. 8:38-39) |
Church |
We believe in and support the local church, composed of born-again, |
baptized believers, not simply as an organization, but as a living |
organism with Jesus Christ as the Head and the Holy Spirit as the |
Heart. (Eph. 1:22-23; Rom. 5:5) |
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, for the purpose of putting |
us into the spiritual body of Christ as His children. (1Cor. 12:13; |
Eph. 4:4-6) We believe there are two ordinances of the New Testament church: First, |
baptism in water, by immersion, to show the death and burial of the old |
life, and resurrection that points to the believer's new life and walk. |
Second, the Lords' Supper that shows forth Jesus' death and second |
coming. (Matthew 3:16; Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:3-4; I Corinthians 11:26) |
Second Coming |
We believe the Bible teaches the second coming of Jesus will be two |
distinct and separate events, divided by a seven year period, called |
the Great Tribulation. We believe in the pre-tribulational catching up |
(rapture) of the church, and seven years later, in the personal, |
physical and visible pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ to establish |
His earthly kingdom, in which He will rule and reign from His throne in |
Jerusalem for 1,000 years. After then the eternal state will be ushered |
in as per Revelation 21. (Acts 1:11; I Corinthians 15:51-52; I |
Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 3:10) |
Judgment |
We believe in the everlasting, conscious blessedness of all the saved, in |
heaven, in the presence of God, as well as the everlasting conscious, |
punishment, in hell, of the lost separated from the presence of God. |
(John 14:1-6; Acts 16:31; Revelation 21-22; Mark 9:42-48; Revelation |
20:11-15) |
